Swedana | purifying steam therapy

Immerse yourself in a deeply relaxing and detoxifying full-body herbal steam treatment. The enclosed canopy heats up to 115 degrees Fahrenheit. Swedana increases perspiration, which is a natural means for the body to eliminate toxins. Thus, this treatment promotes detoxification and is an excellent adjunct to cleanses. Recommended for Vata and Kapha types.

Shirodhara | anointing oil therapy

Allow yourself extra time to relax and reset the nervous system. Shirodhara is a steady stream of warmed sesame oil that flows over the forehead, scalp and hair. It is believed to activate the third eye and crown chakras and balance the pineal gland. Recommended for Vata types.

Garshana gloves are used to exfoliate the skin, a lymphatic massage oil is applied over the body, then a mixture of dried herbs is vigorously massaged to condition the skin and stimulate the lymphatic system.  A steam tent is lowered down for a deep steep of the herbs, to promote sweating and enhance circulation.  This treatment can assist lymphatic drainage, reduce swelling, and promote detoxification of the body. Detoxifying, recommended for Kapha and Pitta.  Includes application of herbal massage oil, flower water, and botanic beauty scrub.

Champissage + Shirodhara | anointing oil therapy

Massage to the scalp, neck and face and jaw and oiling to the ears (karna purana) followed by a relaxing shirodhara. Marma points in the head and face connect to the entire body and can have a reflexively relaxing effect on the entire system. Shirodhara is a steady stream or warm sesame oil poured over the forehead, scalp and hair. It is deeply balancing and restoring to the nervous system as it helps you to experience your true Self. The soft, steady pressure of flowing oil to the forehead, which has numerous pressure points, is a conscious way to calm and soothe the mind and body.
